With a few months to go until the fully redesigned 2020 Ford Escape hits our lot, we’re excited to provide a sneak peek at the innovative safety and convenience features that make this compact crossover SUV anything but standard. With incredible driver assistance features included in the standard Ford Co-Pilot360™ safety suite, we know that this highly anticipated Ford vehicle will thrill shoppers in upcoming months. With the 2020 Ford Escape, you’ll have your choice of two gasoline-only engines along with two hybrid powertrains. The base engine is the 1.5L three-cylinder EcoBoost turbocharged engine that produces 180 horsepower and 177 lb-ft of torque. Upgrade to the 2.0L four-cylinder EcoBoost turbocharged engine for 250 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque.

Drivers looking for increased fuel efficiency should consider the HEV or PHEV engines. The 2.5L four-cylinder engine (HEV) matches a 1.1 kWh electric motor whereas the PHEV version uses a 14.4 kWh electric motor.

Standard front-wheel-drive comes with both hybrid engines and the 1.5L gasoline-only engine. You can upgrade your handling and performance with the 2.0L gasoline engine that’s paired with all-wheel-drive.

The newly redesigned 2020 Ford Escape provides essential driver assistance features like blind-spot warning, a lane-keeping system, and cross-traffic alert. This safety tech is a standard component of the Ford Co-Pilot360™ safety system. Optional safety equipment, like evasive steering assist, are available as well.

If you’re searching for a capable compact SUV that offers plenty of standard safety features while providing options to boost your fuel performance, then this new Ford vehicle may be right for you.
